Flower Shows

You don’t have to be a garden lover to enjoy some of Britain’s amazing gardening events that take place all over the country each summer.

Following hard on the footsteps of the world famous Chelsea Garden flower show comes a long list of great events right across the country.

One that caught our eye was the Blenheim Flower Show taking place at the end of June.

Many may still not know about this event, which only started three years ago, but already it is turning into one of the big shows of the summer.

Its location is an attraction on its own – Blenheim Palace is a true masterpiece of Baroque architecture with a fascinating interior including its stunning Great Hall and exquisite state rooms. Set in more than 2,000 acres of beautifully landscaped parkland and formal gardens, there is more than enough to keep you entertained.

Now this wonderful location will be the setting for an inspirational flower show, where over 300 exhibitors will be providing information and ideas on all things gardening…..plants, trees, shrubs, flowers, colours, structures plus additional products and gadgets to help you transform your own space into a true oasis of beauty.

At the heart of the much-anticipated event will be a 25,000 square foot ‘Victory Pavilion’ featuring over 40 stunning floral displays and a huge selection of plants from the UK’s finest nurseries available at special event prices.

Elsewhere, visitors can enjoy a stroll down ‘Winston’s Way’ and ‘Churchill’s Crescent’ to discover the inspiring show gardens displaying breath-taking outdoor spaces by some of the UK’s finest landscape designers, browse and purchase the latest products or indulge in some of the finest foods and nibbles.

The show is being opened by Mary Berry. While her interest in cooking has led her to a career as one of the nation’s favourite cookery writers and broadcasters, she has a passion for growing her own culinary herbs, fruit and vegetables – so certainly knows her way around a potting shed.

Tickets are priced from £11 for adults and £5.50 for children at the gate, concessions are available and you can buy discounted advance tickets at www.blenheimflowershow.co.uk.
