We are pulling a Beginner’s Guide Out of the BoxDecember 2011
We have covered the biggest range of subjects from karaoke and calligraphy to learning latin, keeping chickens, metal detecting and even joining an historical enactment society. All the details on these great ideas for more unusual leisure time activities for the over 50s are still available here on the Laterlife website (see archives...). Now we have decided the time has come to change tack a little and instead of just giving ideas and overviews of different activities, we are going to produce a series of Beginner’s Guides To. These will be more specific on each activity, how to start, what you need and what you might expect, and will cover all the popular leisure pastimes such as golf and bridge as well as many of the less usual subjects that are beginning to attract interest for people in our generation. Things are changing fast and we may even look beyond leisure activities and produce Beginner’s Guides To in very practical areas such as getting a job when you are over 60. But the guides will be produced steadily through 2012 and hopefully there will be ideas and lots of useful information for everyone. The information will be free of course to all Laterlife readers. If you have a subject you would particularly like to see covered, then just contact us at beginnersguideto@laterlife.com and we will see what we can do.
