Looking Good in laterlife
October 2007
Looking Good in laterlife is a regular column
reporting on the latest tips on beauty products and
processes for the more mature face and body.
Anyone who has looked after her (or his) appearance
over the years has the edge in later life compared to
ravers who burned all their candles at both
ends.
A vast industry is out there
to help with all and every beauty concern. In this
column every month laterlife.com will report
on ideas and products, old and new. All with the
focus on maturity of course.

Emu Spirit

Emu oil has been praised for its regenerative and
moisturising properties by some of the World’s biggest stars, with
the likes of Demi Moore and Goldie Hawn swearing by its anti-aging
properties.
The oil is held in
such high regard, by stars and therapists alike, for several
reasons. Firstly it is one of nature’s best moisturisers, both
adding moisture to the skin and helping retain it once it is
there. Unlike other oils however emu oil is quickly absorbed by
the skin and studies show it has a score of less than one in
comedogencity (pore clogging) tests, which means that it won’t
to clog up pores and cause irritation.
The oil is also
jammed packed full of essential fatty acids (Omegas 3 and 6)
as well as Omega 9 (often referred to as the third essential
fatty acid), which are vital building blocks for healthy skin.
Emu oil is also thought to contain natural anti-oxidants which
help fight oxygen free radicals, the main culprits behind aging
skin.
Perhaps the most
important aspect of emu oil though are studies that show it
has regenerative properties. Skin defects that have emu oil
applied to them show cell regeneration at up to twice the normal
rate, showing the oil has massive potential as a true anti-aging
product.
The Pioneer
Trading Company are Europe’s leading emu oil suppliers and own
the leading brand of oil, ‘Golden Emu Oil’.
This Autumn sees
the company launching a new range of emu oil products to the UK
– Emu Spirit. Already hugely popular in Australia the Emu
Spirit range of beauty products are high end anti-aging skin
care products, with the lead product being a Moisturising Day
Cream.
The Day Cream has been specifically formulated to visibly reduce
the appearance of fine line wrinkles and combines emu oil with
Vitamin E, Aloe Vera and squalene, to enhance the unique
penetrating, moisturising and nourishing action of emu oil and
add fullness and glow to all skin types. The cream imparts a
light, but invisible moisture barrier which actively promotes
natural moisture retention and helps reduce exposure to
environmental dangers. The cream also contains a UV absorber to
help reduce radiation effects.
Also in the Emu
Spirit range are a hydrating night cream and a moisturising soap
bar. The new Emu Spirit range, along with Golden Emu Oil,
products are available directly from the Pioneer Trading Company
by visiting their website at
www.pion-tc.co.uk
or calling them on 01526 344971 / 345613.
