The Ramblers newsletterOctober 2007Extracts from the latest Take Action newsletter from The RamblersAt laterlife we support the work
of The Ramblers and periodically we bring you extracts from
their email newsletter with links to their website for full
details. ABOUT THE RAMBLERS The Ramblers are Britain's biggest walking charity.
They've been working for
over 70 years to promote walking and to improve conditions for
everyone who walks in England, Scotland and Wales.
The Ramblers rely almost entirely upon the generosity of members and
supporters in order to carry out their work.
the Ramblers have opportunities to suit everyone, whether you want to be
indoors or outside in the open air, back a big campaign or help
out locally.
As a registered charity they receive no money from the government
to carry out teir work. Help support their charitable aims by
making a donation.
Walker-friendly places are people-friendly places. Putting
walkers’ needs first results in a more attractive, “liveable”
environment for everyone, where people not only walk but also
linger, meet, interact and play. More people out and about on
foot makes everyone feel safer and discourages crime and
anti-social behaviour.
