DOES TRAFFIC NOISE AFFECT YOUR WALKING?
A new study by the Transport for Quality of Life initiative is
looking for examples of how rural traffic noise from new or
enlarged road schemes impacts on those living in, working in or
visiting the countryside.
Of particular interest are people who can speak from personal
experience about how road building (or road widening) through a
rural area has caused them to change how they live their lives –
including recreational activities, home life and work.
If you think you can contribute, contact Ian Taylor at
ian@transportforqualityoflife.com
or visit www.transportforqualityoflife.com for more information.
Don’t forget to mention the Ramblers’ Association.

PLANNING DISASTER RUMBLES ON
Keep checking www.planningdisaster.co.uk for the latest
developments in this major campaign to protect local voice and
choice in planning. A new map will show you the possible major
projects that could be steamrollered through under government
proposals.
WALKING FACT:

Walker-friendly places are people-friendly places. Putting
walkers’ needs first results in a more attractive, “liveable”
environment for everyone, where people not only walk but also
linger, meet, interact and play. More people out and about on
foot makes everyone feel safer and discourages crime and
anti-social behaviour.
