Universal Pictures is delighted to announce the release of a
special box set celebrating the timeless appeal of the hugely
popular, thrillingly entertaining Airport film franchise.
Airport – Terminal Pack is available on DVD from 24th April
2006. The 4-disc box set includes the original Airport (1970) as
well as the DVD premieres of its three sequels Airport ‘75,
Airport ’77 and The Concorde - Airport ’79.
Based on Arthur Hailey’s bestselling novel, the Oscar-winning first
Airport movie was one of the most successful films of its time,
grossing more than $100 million at the box office and spawning a
whole new genre – the disaster movie.
With a truly stellar cast including Burt Lancaster, Dean Martin,
Jacqueline Bisset and Jean Seberg, Airport provided Hollywood
glamour and high-flying, masterful suspense in equal measure and was
nominated for 10 Academy Awards.
The original’s trailblazing success and winning formula was repeated
in the other films in the series, with a roster of movie megastars
including James Stewart, Jack Lemmon, Charlton Heston and Gloria
Swanson all queuing up to take their seats on the flight of
