passionate and beautifully animated love story from Oscar-winning
director Fernando Trueba (Belle Epoque) and Spain’s most famous designer
Javier Mariscal.

Bebo Valdés, on whom the character of Chico is loosely based, Chico &
Rita captures a definitive moment in the evolution of jazz music. The
film features music by jazz legends Thelonious Monk, Cole Porter, Dizzy
Gillespie & Freddy Cole (brother of Nat King Cole).

The May 9th DVD & Blu-ray release of Chico
& Rita will coincide with the CD and digital download release of the
original soundtrack album on May 2nd (Sony), and the release of a newly
adapted graphic novel on May 5th (Self Made Hero).
Developed by Bebo Valdés among other great composers, the Chico & Rita
original soundtrack album consists of 30 songs, taking the listener on a
musical journey into the best of Latin music.
The Chico & Rita graphic novel, which is colour illustrated in the Ligne
Claire style, is beautifully published in a 208 page hardback edition,
it will be available online and from book and comics retailers
