Laterlife Courses and Services

Laterlife started in the training arena in 2004 and in that time has grown to become the leading supplier of Open Pre-retirement Courses all round the UK.

Laterlife's portfolio of courses has been selectively extended since 2010 to provide other courses which are related to making the most of later life and of retirement.

The portfolio now consists of:

  • Laterlife Pre-retirement Courses - our main pre-retirement courses for people approaching retirement or even early in retirement
  • Laterlife Head Start - aimed at employees reaching the age of 50 (or 10-15 years before expected retirement).
  • Planning Retirement Online - an online version of our pre-retirement planning workshops and an interactive self-assessment utility called 'How ready are you to retire?' In addition it includes access to the same set of guides and information made available as part of the Intranet option described below.
  • Retirement Content for the organisation’s Intranet
    The comprehensive content is intended to prompt and assist all employees at whatever age (there are timelines from age 20 onwards) to plan for their retirement.

Later Life

  • Laterlife Choices - aimed at those in their 50s in an out-placement situation who would not immediately think of retirement as an option or who might consider partial retirement with portfolio working.

Out placement

  • Outplacement - Job Search Seminars - These consist of a one day workshop plus 1 hour one-to-one on the next day. They are applicable to staff up to ‘middle’ management level.
  • Outplacement 1-1 Programmes - The seminar and the one-to-one programmes, cover similar ground. The one-to-one is considerably more in-depth and highly tailored to the needs of the individual.

Managing later life employees workshop

The purpose of the workshop is to equip HR and Managers with the ability to effectively manage older employees, to proactively discuss retirement with their staff at all stages of their career and to manage staff effectively towards the end of their careers.

Developing a Flexible Retirement policy

The purpose of the workshop is to assist the organisation to shape its future policies regarding older workers and retirement, particularly in the context of the demise of the Default Retirement Age.
An initial half day 1-1 session with the person responsible for retirement policy, or a one day workshop with key stakeholders as appropriate.
