Finding an Independent Financial Adviser
This page provides links for finding Independent Financial advisers but
there are several types of Financial Advisers and it is important to
understand the different types and the sort of advice they can give.
Read the section
Types of Financial Advice to decide which
sorts of Financial Advisers you would be comfortable with and whether you
prefer a fee based or commission based approach.
The following sites provide search facilities for Independent financial
advisers. You can input your postcode to find an independent financial
adviser near you:
IFA Promotion -
IFAP has been running for over 15 years and promotes the benefits of
independent financial advice to consumers and businesses.
The Personal Finance
Society - searches AFPC qualified independent financial advisers who are
members of the society.
MyLocalAdviser
- includes all Independent Financial Advisers, plus other investment,
mortgage and insurance intermediaries in the UK - over 25,000!
You may care to take a look at the
Financial Services Authority (FSA) website. All IFAs have to be
registered with the FSA and this provides you with the reassurance that IFAs
are regulated and taken to task if their advice to you can be shown to be
not in your best interests. If this is the case, you may well get
compensation through the FSA. |
