Hyaluronic acid, a substance found in the skin that gives the look of firmness - sadly lost in later life - is administered in the form of injections. Lasercare clinics offer a treatment with hyaluronic acid, called IAL-System. The substance is injected into the dermis, the skin's deep layer, to give elasticity and tone and to help the skin retain moisture. Where can it be used? IAL-System can be used on face, neck, chest, hands to restore firmness and tone the skin. Injections as placed in a kind of 'network', a series of small, regular 'patterns' around the eyes, mouth, forehead, or where needed. What can it smooth out? Fine lines and crow's feet around the eye area, any wrinkles occurring at the eyebrows, sides of the nose and deeper folds and lines around the mouth. Also wrinkles at the neckline and d?olletage. How long does it take? It depends on skin condition. Treating hands takes 15 minutes; decolletage 20 minutes; face 20 minutes. Depending on skin condition, the number of treatments is two to three, with a top-up every six months. Is it suitable for any skin? IAL-System is suitable for most skin conditions and for the over 50 age group. It can be used to provide immediate repair to damaged skin after sun exposure, for instance. Is it painful? Not
usually. There is skin redness after the treatment and some lumpiness
ranging from a few hours up to a day or two. Not suitable for anyone taking Warfarin. What does it cost? For
older and dehydrated skin, cost for three treatments is ?450. For
younger skin two treatments cost ?350. And a top-up treatment every
five to six months is ?175. |
