Pitman Bournemouth - IT learning club for the over 50's
The club is designed for
anyone over 50 who would like to 'get to grips' with computers. Everyone is welcome, no
matter what their skills are, as we are quite used to helping complete beginners. All the
staff at the centre are fully trained and are used to the different, more tactful approach
needed when teaching mature students. The training is informal and 'self-paced', so
everyone can go at their own speed with no pressure. Staff are on hand at all times so
members have access to as much 1:2:1 tuition as they need.
The club is meant to be as much a social occasion as it is an opportunity to learn about
computers. Membership to the club is free and is held at the training centre in
Bournemouth every Thursday between 2pm and 5pm. Members can come along at any time and
stay for as long as they wish. We will be serving tea and cakes halfway through the
session, which will give members a chance to have a chat, discuss common 'PC problems' and
meet the staff in an informal situation. Courses start from £25, with discounts available
for members.
