Seniorspeak in later life      Archive

Get online and give evidence on long term care to representatives of two parliaments

On June 14, 2002 The Hansard Society  launched  Seniorspeak, an online consultation on older people and long term care, run in partnership with Age Concern and Help the Aged.

  • The consultation is open to anyone with an interest in health, ageing or related issues.

  • They are especially keen to hear the views of older people themselves.

  • The consultation is initially being run till mid-July but might continue if response merits it.

  • Seniorspeak will feed views into the parliamentary processes of both the Westminster and Scottish Parliaments as a means of exchanging views between policy-makers and the public.

The issue of long term care emerged as the nation's chief concern in the BBC's NHS poll in February this year, and now Seniorspeak offers the opportunity for feedback.

  • Are you or your family affected by issues of long term care?

  • Are you involved in a project that has particular links with older people?

  • Are there groups in your area who might like to get online to have their say in the consultation?

Seniorspeak is part of the Hansard Society's research programme into how new technologies might improve democratic communication between parliament and citizens. Previous online consultations include Womenspeak (on domestic violence), Uspeak (on Family Tax Credits) and Floodforum (evidence on flooding and prevention).
