The aim of this section is to identify useful sources of information for the over 50s, in particular those which aren't included in the more specific areas of laterlife.com

If there is any information you are looking for and can't find then simply enter the Ideas and Information discussion forum and post your query to the 'Does anyone know' discussion thread. If you know of or find information you think will be of value to others then please do the same but post it to the 'Did you know' thread.

 

Age Concern Age Concern site. In their role as the National Council on Ageing they have lists of 100 organisations throughout the UK associated with Age Concern. They can help you find the local ‘desk’ who you can contact for information on how to enjoy life in your area. And if you would like to help, there is a Get Involved section to look at, with information on volunteering, donations, events, programmes, and campaigns.
Women Links to organisations across the world for older women from The Older Women's Network, Europe. These links are also to the national age organisations world-wide. Why not try the European Society for Older women as well.
Government Government Information is the official government website containing information on government policy, services and links to official documentation. It has a search engine which is a trifle slow but will connect you to a huge amount of information on whatever you want to know about the UK government, legislation and your rights
Retirement ARP - Association of Retired and Persons Over 50. Largest over 50s organisation in the UK, the Association of Retired and Persons over 50 site contains information about ARP associated societies and groups. Provides links to official sites of useful information (BDA, DfEE, DSS, etc.). You can subscribe to ARP from this site and receive information on the issues being campaigned for by ARP.
Pensions OPAS The Pensions Advice Service can offer advice for those approaching pensionable age or already receiving a pension. If you are having problems you can find out how OPAS can help you, and get in contact with them
Legal Free Legal Information for Individuals, maintained by Delia Venables is a guide to sites offering free legal advice on many issues, housing, wills, pensions, and much more. Extremely comprehensive, there is a great deal to be found through this site especially if you're after specific topics.
United Kingdom Law Links A collection of links to sites all specialising in UK law related issues, from court structure to the laws themselves. This is a very comprehensive site with a useful search engine located at the bottom of the home page.
Jobs, Cars, Property fish4 - A complete and comprehensive service offering you access to classified advertising from around the UK on jobs, cars and property.
