News released late this week indicates that drugs used  long term to treat weak bones, especially in older people suffering from osteoporosis, may in some patients cause the bones to weaken instead.

Silver Travel Advisor Article:

Are you, like me, done with airport hassle? I simply cannot stand in another queue at some ungodly hour, shoes off, clutching my trousers as now beltless, whilst trying to grapple my laptop out of my rucksack and pop my lipstick in a plastic bag that’s always too small or won’t close properly! Ageing Hipster: The story of settlement in Australia - Port Arthur Tasmania

“I ponder the aspect of travel that is time, that is once in a lifetime experience. I wonder about those who say you can never return, wonder if I’ve returned somewhere or simply come to a new place. Because I was there, and have the picture. I lived it. I was there and I am here, and I’ll like something else and that’s travel, that’s life.”

bird covered in oil

Many of us may well remember being aware of a dramatic tragedy that occurred in March 1967. The event was the sinking of the Torrey Canyon oil tanker carrying 120,000 tons of crude oil. She was wrecked just off west Cornwall and really was the first officially recognised environmental disaster on this scale.

Looking out for wildlife in April

April is a busy month for wildlife. We see the arrival of summer migrants like swifts, swallows and house martins. After long migration journeys they’ll be very tired so we can welcome their arrival by topping up the bird table with food and water.

Relationship Column:
