How laterlife.com is organised
From any
page you can easily access all the information on
laterlife: through the menu bar on the left or
by selecting the site map. There is also a search
facility button above the advert panel at the foot of
most pages.
As well as
the main menu topic structure a particular feature of
laterlife is the alternative organisation of
information around events in life, bringing together
all the information you need at a particular time. If
you haven't visited the site before, after browsing
some of the main sections on the menu bar or taking the
site tour, take a look at laterlife events and
within that a look at the anniversary section - make
sure you have a look at the anniversary party
invitation and anniversary ode too!
In each area
of laterlife.com you will find that as well as our own
information we have researched and tried to identify
two or three of the best general sources of information
to ensure coverage of the topic, as well as identifying
more specific items of interest.
As well as
information you'll also find facilities such as the laterlife
reminder system - never forget birthdays,
anniversaries, insurance renewals or anything else you
want to remember again, we will automatically send you
an email reminder on the date you specify, plus useful
information concerning the event.
Books
Another common theme within laterlife are links to
amazon for books of relevance to the topic you are
viewing. Every time you link to Amazon from
laterlife.com and make a purchase of any book or gift
it generates money for charity (see
our policy below), so why not make an extra click or
two whenever you want to buy a book and come via
laterlife.com. It costs you nothing and if you bookmark
this or the 'laterlife today' page it will only add one
click to get to Amazon via the logo displayed here.
If you have never visited amazon it is a great place
to go to experience your first on-line purchase. The
first time
we visited it (at 9:00 in the evening)
we were amazed to find the book we purchased waiting
for us by the afternoon the next day!
Music while you
browse
To enhance your experience at laterlife
you can listen to Classic Gold radio while browsing the
site or anywhere else on the internet you might like to
go! Simply click on the radio logo to start the music.
You need to have Microsoft Windows Media Player in
order for this to work so follow this link - Classic Gold
Radio - to our sub-page where you can download the
latest version and also link to the Classic Gold
website. (Note: Unfortunately this doesn't currently
work if you are using a Netscape browser).
Money for
Charity
As a by-product of laterlife we also aim to generate
money for charity; the more you visit the site, and
especially if you register for the newsletter, the more
money goes to charity - see What's laterlife all
about for more information.
Sharing
Ideas
laterlife is aimed at making life more enjoyable for
those of us over 50 - one of the best ways of doing
this is to share ideas and knowledge between us through
discussion forums, so visit the laterlife cafe and join in. If
you've never used a forum before, make this the first
one and don't worry if you make a mistake.
Laterlife
Associates
Laterlife aims to draw on our joint experiences and
knowledge. If you would like to author a laterlife
topic why not become a laterlife
associate.
