Walking in the Lot - Unspoiled, Inspiring South West France

Fully catered, guided and personally tailored walking holidays - for groups of 6 friends.

Le Marronnier

Staying in Le Marronnier a beautiful restored 16th century farmhouse.

Le Marronnier was built in 1761 and has been sympathetically restored and updated. There are 3 bedrooms, 1 double en suite on the ground floor, a further double bedroom and a twin bedded room on the 1st floor with a shared bathroom. The twin bedded room can accommodate a double bed instead of the two singles. The configuration of the house makes it most suitable for couples/friends.

It is situated within the Causse de Quercy National Park, a limestone plateau which is a beautiful and rugged part of France and ideally placed for exploring the stunning countryside on foot.

Causse de Quercy National ParkThe house is set in an acre of land and has a private open air swimming pool. It is equipped with all of the items needed to make a comfortable stay, including satellite TV, a DVD player, WIFI, CD player, a selection of games and plenty of books. We will ensure that the little things are catered for - there are always plenty of refreshments - tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. Additionally, we will provide fresh bread and croissants for breakfast, a packed lunch and a variety of delicious evening meals prepared with local French produce wherever possible – duck and lamb are the regions specialities. Rocamadour cheese is famous!

You will find the beds comfortable and towels and linen provided .You will need to bring your own swimming towels if you are planning to use the pool (which is not heated).

Walking in Lot, South West FranceWe are experienced in letting our house and have been doing this for 10 years - the walking holidays fit perfectly at the beginning and end of season. The weather is mild in April /May and the wild narcissi are in bloom. During the golden days of September and October with hedgerows clothed in fiery wild Virginia creeper, the air is like wine and walking an absolute pleasure.

At the outset, our English speaking guides Sarah and Mike will help decide on walks to suit you, from rugged upward paths promising rewarding views, to river walks and treks to sites of special interest. At all times, the choice is yours, we make it happen!
