Our Travelling with a Group page provides links to companies that organise holidays for single travellers. They provide different sorts of holidays but, by and large (but not exclusively), of the more conventional sort.

For those of you who are somewhat more adventurous, you can also link up with others on holidays that are a bit more out-of-the-ordinary. So if you want something a bit different, try, for example, The Adventure Company. This company organises adventure holidays in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the Himalayas and Latin America. Over half their bookings are from single people and the split on most holidays is even between men and women. You are automatically roomed with someone of the same sex unless you request a room of your own, which you can do on over 80% of the trips. You can spend a night in a tribal village, go dog-sledding, trek over a high pass in the Himalayas or choose from a wide variety of other adventures.

Another company that organises singles holidays with a bit of a difference is Activities Abroad. Like The Adventure Company, they do not do holidays for single travellers exclusively  but many of their bookings are from single people. In that sense, they are similar to many of the companies that we feature on our Travelling with a Group page. They organise activity holidays throughout Europe. You can do white water rafting and sky diving in Spain, canyoning on Greece, mountain biking in France, sea kayaking in Turkey and so on.

If you prefer to stay in the UK, you can take a singles holiday and sail. Activity Yachting caters for beginners and experienced sailors and they welcome single people. Or you can take a look at Events Together who provide multi-activity adventures in, for example, the Lake District and Wales. You can abseil, walk and scramble, sail and do many other outdoor activities. These holidays are exclusively for single people, so if you prefer an exclusively singles holiday, this could be for you. They also do holidays abroad, including skiing.

There are many opportunities for you to do more adventurous and, perhaps, unusual activities as a single person.  Activity holidays are well suited to singles holidays, since they are sometimes not particularly suited to family groups. So take a look and see if there is something that appeals to you and take the plunge - sometimes literally!
