Voluntary Work

Part of our comprehensive section on Working in Laterlife is a page on Voluntary Work. Although it is only one page, there are links to many other pages that will help, if you are interested in giving something to the community through voluntary work, as many people are.

The first link that it provides is to our Guide to Voluntary Work, which will provide you with lots of help, ideas and guidance if you do want to venture into the voluntary sector.

The Voluntary Work page tells you where you can find out about voluntary work in your area and there is a link to a website that will show you where your nearest volunteer bureau is.

There is then some information on the Retired Executives Action Clearing House (REACH), which helps people with some sort of professional expertise find challenging and interesting positions in the voluntary sector.

There then follow links to many other voluntary organisations that might interest you, including one or two that will enable you to volunteer overseas, should you wish to.

There is a lot of information on the page and through the links that are on it that will help you to find voluntary work. Many retired people like to join the voluntary sector for a variety of reasons and it can be very rewarding. So take a look and see if it's for you.
