Over 50 and considering starting a business?
Increasingly we see over 50s starting their own business in
later life either because of redundancy, because they want a
change from corporate life, or as an opportunity to capitalise
on a hobby or interest in their retirement.
Whether you are just starting to think about setting up a
business or already well down the track, Laterlife can help you.
Our practical one day workshop covers all aspects of starting
a business including:
-
Assessing whether you have all the skills and
attributes you need in yourself and/or your partners in
order to run a successful business
- A structured approach to all the major and minor things
you need to do to get your business off the ground. With Dos
and Don’ts and advice and guidance based on actual
experience of starting a business.
- Exercises and discussions to help you think
or validate your thinking about key aspects of the business, assess the
opportunities and risks and identify what further actions
you need to take.
- Access to resources and information which will both
speed your set up and save you money
Delivered by tutors who have practical experience of starting
and running a successful business.
Plus on-going assistance and online networking with other
delegates after the event.
The number of people on each workshop is strictly limited
because of their interactive nature.
Nature of the workshop
The Laterlife 'Starting a Business' workshop aims to improve
the chances of success of anyone over 50 who is considering
starting their own business.
We do this by leading you through thinking about all aspects
of starting a business and provide advice and guidance based on
actual experience.
We cover the mechanics of starting a business but the
focus is on the elements that make a real difference such as
‘whether you or your partners have the necessary skills and
attributes to successfully run a business’, ‘identifying the
opportunities and risks’, and the key elements of your business
plan.
It’s a very interactive approach which really gets you
thinking about your proposed business and assessing what you
need to do before going ahead.
